Classic cocktails

Classic cocktails are recipes that have remained popular for generations. Here you will find three straightforward classics with ingredients and videos: Gimlet, Mint Julep and Tom Collins.

Gimlet

A simple, fresh cocktail with gin and lime.

  • 6 cl gin
  • 1.5 cl fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 cl simple syrup

Shake the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled glass.

Mint Julep

The classic Mint Julep is made with bourbon, fresh mint, sugar and water and served over crushed ice.

  • 6 cl bourbon
  • 4 fresh mint sprigs
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp water

Gently muddle the mint with the sugar and water. Fill the glass with crushed ice, add bourbon and stir until well chilled. Garnish with fresh mint.

Tom Collins

Tom Collins is a refreshing long drink with gin, lemon, simple syrup and soda water.

  • 4.5 cl gin
  • 3 cl fresh lemon juice
  • 1.5 cl simple syrup
  • 6 cl soda water

Add the ingredients to a highball glass with ice, top with soda water and stir gently. Using Old Tom Gin gives the classic Tom Collins variation.

Classic cocktails are made in different variations. The Mint Julep and Collins specifications here are based on the International Bartenders Association (IBA).
