Classic Cocktails

Classic cocktails are recipes that have remained popular for generations. Here are three straightforward examples with ingredients and videos: Gimlet, Mint Julep and Tom Collins.

Gimlet

A simple cocktail with gin and lime.

  • 6 cl gin
  • 1.5 cl fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 cl simple syrup

Shake the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled glass.

Mint Julep

A Mint Julep is made with bourbon, mint, sugar and water and served over crushed ice.

  • 6 cl bourbon
  • 4 fresh mint sprigs
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp water

Gently muddle the mint with the sugar and water. Fill the glass with crushed ice, add bourbon and stir until chilled. Garnish with fresh mint.

Tom Collins

Tom Collins is a long drink with gin, lemon, simple syrup and soda water.

  • 4.5 cl gin
  • 3 cl fresh lemon juice
  • 1.5 cl simple syrup
  • 6 cl soda water

Add the ingredients to a highball glass with ice, top with soda water and stir gently.
